fall favorite from stitch fix!

I am a partner of Stitch Fix, so I may be compensated through my affiliate links in this post, but all opinions are my own!

If only I had the words to express to you how DANG excited I am that this week was actually chilly & rainy. Those are the days I LIVE for when it’s 95 degrees in the middle of July and I’m contemplating why I’m alive… okay that’s dramatic, but I’m pretty much the opposite of every other human and I hate warm, sunny days but love cold, rainy ones – all year long. Which is why I’m just as confused as you are that I’m headed to Phoenix tomorrow, where it’s 90 degrees right now – but hey, a fun trip with a friend is not something I’m going to turn down! Anyway, I’m celebrating this wonderful week by sharing with you my latest Stitch Fix find.

I’ve been trying to be better about spending money lately, so I told myself I could only keep one thing from my September Stitch Fix box – basically the hardest thing in the entire world. There were 2 or 3 pieces I really liked, but in the end, I chose this super soft, super cozy, super fall-y elbow patch pullover.

Let’s start with these amazing elbow patches. When looking in my closet, I’m shocked to find out that I actually don’t have any other sweaters with elbow patches! They are such a fun, cozy, retro touch that instantly upgrades a simple pullover sweater. I love that they chose to go with brown sueded patches on this sweater because the color really warms up the allover cream and black stitching.

Secondly, I love how the front of the sweater is a bit cropped, with the back hanging longer. I usually end up tucking sweaters into my jeans in the front and leaving them out in the back to achieve this look, but with this sweater, that shape is already set up for me! Especially with more boxy sweaters, making the front a little shorter than the back gives you a more defined shape than it would otherwise.

I paired this sweater with my go-to American Eagle Super Low Jeggings (please do not ask why I got Super Low rise… not made for my body… but I push through) in black and some tan cutout ankle booties to coordinate with the brown elbow patches. This is a simple fall outfit that I would wear on a chilly weekend running errands or heading out to lunch with a friend.

I also threw on an old pair of Lia Sophia earrings to dress up the sweater a bit but also keep it semi-casual. These used to be some of my go-to earrings – I love the gem detail with the gold outline. You could totally pair this outfit with statement earrings and a black, heeled bootie to make it even more fancy for a holiday party!
