keeping it cozy in shearling // stitch fix

I am a partner of Stitch Fix, so I may be compensated through my affiliate links in this post, but all opinions are my own!

If one thing is true, it’s that staying warm and looking cute don’t always go hand in hand. It’s easy to throw on everything you own to build an ever-cozy snowman suit, but that’s not necessarily an outfit that’s going to make the Instagram. Sometimes that’s fine with me, as my warmth is more important than being trendy, but some moods or experiences call for a wish to combine the elements of keep-me-from-hypothermia and make-people-ask-me-about-my-outfit.

Stitch Fix clearly understood this dilemma when they decided to send me the Twila Faux Shearling Jacket! I’ve never seen something like it – a cross between a shearling vest (like I’m wearing in this Instagram post) and a classic cardigan! What could be more perfect? You get the style aspect of the trendy shearling vest, which can only transition into winter thrown on top of something long-sleeved, with the full coverage cardigan vibes you crave every frigid snowy morning!

I decided to throw this jacket over a plain black tank and pair it with black skinnies and black booties to really let the details shine. I rocked this look cozying around the house last Saturday morning as well as on a road trip to Chicago in the afternoon. It even got me through the -25° wind chill walk to our New Year’s Eve dinner in downtown Chicago – talk about the windy city! (I apologize for that terrible joke). I can also see this sweater paired with a dress and tights for a fancier night-out look. Definitely a versatile winter piece!

I’ll be thanking the stylists over at Stitch Fix every time I wake up, groan at the temp displayed on my Weather Channel app, and have to figure out what to wear to get me through the day.
